Hi, I’m James, and Healing Hearts is my private counselling practice that I started in Jan 2020, and one of my passions. I am a qualified and registered counsellor with more than 25-years’ experience working in various pastoral care, mentoring, and counselling settings with people of all ages and from all walks of life.
My passion and desire in counselling is to listen to and work with my clients to help them achieve the things that are the most important to them, where they will be able to fulfil their true potential in life and build on their relationships with those around them.
It is my endeavour to provide an environment where individuals or couples can move forward holistically, to search the deeper questions and issues that may be troubling them, and to explore avenues that can lead to a place of healing and greater success in their life and in their personal relationships and discover greater intimacy with those they care about.
My counselling sessions usually run for two hours on a fortnightly basis, especially for couples counselling. Based on experience and client feedback, I feel this allows for deeper work to happen. However, shorter sessions can be negotiated on request as some clients prefer 1-hourly sessions once a week. While sessions are usually run at Para Vista, home visits may be possible on request.
